The Endless Mountain Choral Society will present its fourth annual Spring Concert with a performance of Percy Grainger’s Works for Chorus and Brass Ensemble on Saturday May 11th, 2019 at 5PM at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Troy. A pre-concert talk will begin at 4:30PM. In addition to rarely-performed works such as “Marching Tune” and “I’m Seventeen Come Sunday,” the concert will feature six world-premiere settings of Grainger’s music.
Our community choir is comprised of singers from the greater Troy area, reaching as far as Wyalusing and Roaring Branch! The brass ensemble is comprised of young professional musicians from all over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions; Boston, Washington, D.C., and Buffalo, to name a few. Our soloists for this concert include Elmira-native Tamara Acosta, soprano, Director of Music Admissions at the Ithaca College School of Music, Fred Peterbark, tenor, and international recitalist, Brad Hougham, baritone. The Endless Mountain Choral Society’s mission is to present big-city quality concerts for Troy and Bradford County. Our concerts are always free and open to the public. The spring concert would not be possible without the financial support of the Bradford County Regional Arts Council and many local businesses that have sponsored our brass musicians and helped purchase our music. This is a concert you will not want to miss!
